"Prayers should be such that you become His, and He becomes yours. You forgo your manhood, and surrender. And by surrendering you own godhood… with no loss. This means prayer. Prayer is a direct means of communication where you completely surrender yourself to the Lord - and what you surrender is your small meager identity. And thereby you possess godhood, almighty status.
That’s why it’s not good to ask anything from God. Only when the connection is made… A boy is not required to ask his father, “My coat is torn.” It’s the responsibility of the father, much before the coat is torn, and he will supply it. Only, the relationship should be cultivated, should be maintained. So, we don’t ask in order that we may gain more.
We knock on the door of God, just out of love. Just out of love, we want to come to you, we want to belong to you, we want to possess you, we want to be possessed by you. And so we come to you… Just the relation to be maintained… out of love… out of love for God, not out of fear of the world. Not out of fear of the circumstances, not out of fear of suffering, but out of love for the Almighty. This is prayer!"
